In college God did some an incredible thing (in the mids 90’s) among a group of people that we fondly call, “The Circle of Friends” (inspired by the Point of Grace hit, I think). Little did we know in college, how rare and precious these friendships
would be. Little did we know that we’d all be so fruitful and
multiply.:) We don’t get together all that much, but when we do, we pick up right where we left off.
It has been neat to see our kids start to become great friends too as we get together.
We were blessed to have two of the families over the other day. One all the way down from Florida and the other from Indiana.
I am so thankful for friendships that have breathing room.
Room to be yourself.
Room to have a bad day.
Room to ask awkward questions.
Room to be honest.
Room to be accepted; right where you are.
Room to build up; authentically.
Room to be honest; and blunt.
Room to smile; rest easy.
Thank you God for these treasures; these friends.
Take a moment and call or send a card to one of your dear friends today.
Just say “hi”, “thank you”, or “what can I pray for?”
Don’t take them for granted.
There are GIFT.
James 1:17 (NIV)
“Every
good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the
heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
