I am taking another big step today and joining Lisa-Jo for her Five Minute Friday writing prompts. Join us, won’t you?
Small.
In this big world, with this BIG GOD, that is how we often feel.
But, as I was thinking about this word, I thought about our youngest. He is small, but because of his smallness, we can hold him close. He cuddles up in our arms and we care for him. It reminds me of this verse:
“He will feed his flock like a shepherd.
He will carry the lambs in his arms,
holding them close to his heart.
He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.”

I love that. God, our BIG GOD holds us close…and as He does our smallness melts into His greatness. His love covers our neediness. His strength trumps our weakness.
Isn’t that refreshing?
Our smallness positions us to nestle in, to snuggle in close, because without Him we would just stay small, needy…but with Him, in Him…that makes all the difference.
It is a good thing to be small…to not think more of yourself than you ought, but, in that, to remember that He is always thinking of you- highly…longing to hold you close and cheer you on as His greatness invades your smallness.
