It’s that time again, time for the infamous and fabulous Five Minute Friday writing prompt via Lisa-Jo Baker. This week’s word is…WRITER. So go ahead and write for 5 minutes and then link-up with us over here. You’ll be glad you did, but mostly we’ll be glad, as we encourage and learn from one another here.
I am a writer.
I write to understand what is going on- in my head and in my heart and in the world around me.
I write to express what He is working out in me.
I write to tell of Who He is and what He is doing.
I write to influence, to inspire, to share…to testify.
I write for me.
I write for you.
I write for Him.
Sometimes out of hurt, sometimes out of love.
I write to process what I am thinking.
I write to labor through.
I write to remember.
I write to let go.
Although I write, I am not always right. Nor do I always write for the right reasons.
But as He entrusts me with pen and screen, I keep writing.
Telling the story that He has given.
The song plays over and over in my head, “Won’t you write your story on my heart?” by Francesca Battistelli.
Because isn’t that what He is doing after all…writing our story?
The story of He and us.
He is the Author,
and He writes me;
He rights me.
As I pound the keys and jot the thoughts He is using this to transform, to sanctify.
Because His Word delivers…saves, heals, restores.
He is the Word and His words are always right.
I write to understand what is going on- in my head and in my heart and in the world around me.
I write to express what He is working out in me.

Joining you from Five Minute Friday. I love “He is the Author, and He writes me; He rights me.” You chose a theme similar to mine, but so eloquently said. Thank you.

I love how you expressed your desire to write. I am going to keep this post tucked in my journal. It so expresses exactly how I feel about writing as well.
Thanks for sharing.

I’m in tears. These words moved me. And this, “I write to understand what is going on- in my head and in my heart and in the world around me.
I write to express what He is working out in me.
I write to tell of Who He is and what He is doing.”
All of that is all of me. And why I’m writing. And I wouldn’t call myself a “writer,” but I see that’s what I am. Who I am. Who I am becoming. Who I’ve always been…?
Thank you for sharing. I want to hear your voice now. I see a song here…
Thank you for visiting my page and speaking encouragement to me today. Ever so needed.
Blessings,
Meredith
