At the beginning of each month you receive a love letter—special words to lift you as a new page is turned. Take a deep breath and let the words sink in as you lift your eyes to the One who sees you and delights in you.
Dear Tightly Wound Woman:
I am asking you to do something hard today.
But, let me preface it by saying, it will also be beautiful.
Will you come out of hiding?
You offer just enough to be liked—afraid to present a less-than-tidy version of yourself. You wonder if you’ll crumble in a heap if you allow the tears to flow freely. You fear it’ll be “too much” if the dark corners are illuminated. You hide your full self because it feels safer that way.
But, when you are locked up you aren’t free, nor able to free others. And this is truly what you want—freedom, even though it sounds wild and unpredictable.
You are afraid that people won’t care for you, so you work hard to care for yourself.
You strive to be known (or at least for a prettied up version of yourself to be known), because you are afraid you’ll disappear.
Let Me care for you. Stop trying, worrying and obsessing about it, and let Me care for you.
Watch me surprise you.
I am for you.
I know what You need.
You please me—that’s what matters. Release what others think and strap on what I think of you, Daughter.
I am well-pleased with you.
You can stop hiding behind your efforts. Come forth, into the light, full exposure, and be illuminated by My bright love.
You are seen, as you are. You are known.
Cast your cares upon Me, for I indeed care for you (1 Peter 5:7).
So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you. –1 Peter 5:-6-7, The Message
Do you believe it? I truly, deeply care for you. I have eyes for you.
My eyes are upon you and take notice of every detail. I didn’t “drop a stitch, when I knit you together; there is no gap in you.”* You lack nothing that My grace can’t give.**
Lay down the self-protection and self-preservation and let Me love you, just as you are.
You are known by Me.
You don’t have to hide. You don’t have to strive. Lay down your load and pick up My Perfect Love for you.
You are mine. I am Yours.
Let’s walk, hand-in-hand. I will help you. I know this journey is difficult and vulnerable, but it is most necessary.
You can trust Me. I promise. And I keep My promises.
Love,
Me
