Welcome to Day #12 of the Restoration Project.
We’ve talked a lot about rest so far in this series, but not a lot about prayer. Let’s change that today.
We recently attended a wedding for my cousin and his beautiful wife. The ceremony took place in a Catholic Church. During the Prayers for the Faithful the bride’s cousin prayed for a person or group of people and then the congregation responded with, “O Lord, hear our prayer.”
It was a beautiful ritual of a group of people lifting their voices to the Lord in unison—collectively coming before the Lord and asking Him to hear their heart’s cry.
This stuck with me, so I thought that we could do something similar today.

Let’s pray:
For the refugees that are suffering around the world,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For the leaders of our country to know the will of God and then obey it,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For marriages to be strengthened and families to be protected,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For our hearts and motives to be pure and our hands to work as unto You,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For our souls to find rest in You as You direct our days,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For healing for the sick and comfort for the grieving,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For forgiveness for our sins, past, present and future,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For obedience to Your Word and unity with Your Spirit in the body of Christ,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For hope, strength and protection for those serving our country in the military,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For Your keeping of our children as they learn and the teachers as they educate them,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For protection of unborn babies, provision for single parents and gainful employment for the jobless,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For endurance, attentiveness and encouragement for parents as they raise their children in this present age,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For respect for the elderly and advocacy for the disabled,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
For us to be faithful to You in this day that You have given us,
O Lord, hear our prayer.
In Jesus’ Name we pray,
Amen.
