One of My Favorite Aspects of Carol Kent’s Speak Up Conference
Writing and speaking conferences are a highlight of my summer (so are slow days reading by the pond, eating chocolate and peanut butter ice cream in a waffle cone, and snuggling with my family—if it’s not too hot—for snuggling not ice cream!).
It’s a treat to glean insights and gather tools to implement in my ministry but one of my favorite aspects of conferences is encouraging others to take the next steps toward their God-given purpose.
Just a sec…
K, I’m back. Just took a little ice cream break on the hammock, no joke.
This was my third year attending Carol Kent’s fabulous Speak Up Conference. This year I was honored to be on the faculty. The conference flew by as I helped with video critiques and small group speaking groups, served on the Q & A panel, was a part of the Armor of God skit, and taught a breakout session, “The Tension of Two Callings.”
But my favorite part was meeting one-on-one with sixteen of the attendees to offer consultation on social media.
What a privilege to hear what God has placed upon hearts and point others to ideas as they take the next step in their calling.
A couple with a Biblical marriage ministry.
A mom with a big idea to reach kids all across the nation.
A farmer’s wife planted in the heart of Amish country.
A young woman who is writing a sci-fi novel and has an affinity for books.
A treasure of a woman with a colorful past and vibrant future.
And the list goes on…
I smile as I think about each one and look forward to seeing what God has in store as they follow His lead.
See each person you meet as superior to you in some way. @CarolKentSpeaks #speakup2017 Share on XThat’s one of the reasons that I offer consultation for creatives because it is such a joy to watch them shine for God’s glory!
As an “inspiration doula,” I give advice and support to those about to give birth to their dreams.
If I can assist you as you work on or get ready to deliver a creative project, send me a message through my contact form for a free consultation (just mention “SpeakUp17” when you do).*
As my friend Cindy says, “A victory for you, is a victory for me; we’re on the same team!” Let’s go forward, cheering others on with genuineness and enthusiasm.
