While we are still—now, more than ever—let’s use this time to press in and see more clearly.
This covid-19 pandemic is unsettling, yet this time will be marked by a revival of the arts…pure creative expression for the glory of the King and the good of the world. Divine inspiration and unfettered creation are bubbling up and out, for such a time as this.
Write a poem, sing your heart song, paint upon canvas, dance with abandon, and pen timely prose. The world is desperate for hope. Now is the time to offer it, with liberality.

My friends Eric, Morgan, Niki, Martha and others, like the Camps, JJ Heller, and Melissa Helser are releasing songs into the world right now. Have you heard this song, “Sound Mind”?
May songs arise to the One who is the stability of our times (see Isaiah 33).

he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness,
and he will be the stability of your times,
abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge;
the fear of the Lord is Zion’s treasure.” -Isaiah 33: 5-6 (ESV)
This past Saturday, this song flowed out. Hope it uplifts you as you quiet your heart and lean in to God’s strength.
Saturday, Still
I am sittin’ here staring at the wall
Not wasting time more like finding it
My normal pace does not account for this—much
But things have changed for worse or for better
Slowing to see things I’ve missed
Like a sunrise-greeting kiss
And rainy tears sliding down the window
Warmth and laughter swirling round the table of abundance
The centerpiece of these simpler times
And you’re here with me
And it’s gonna be
Saturday still
You’re here with me
And it’s gonna be
It’s gonna be
Saturday still
I am sittin’ here not going out
Not avoiding but settling in close
My normal plan does not make room for this—much
But we remain when the world feels upside down
Stopping to experience the love I’ve tried to fence
Lingering choosing not to hurry
Tender conversations lifting gazes to the clouds of connection
Canopy of sacred days
You’re here with me
And it’s gonna be
It’s gonna be
Saturday still
Like a painting that doesn’t move
Like a firefly you never lose
Like a rainbow of neon hues
I choose you, I choose you
Like a painting that doesn’t move
Like a firefly you never lose
Like a rainbow of neon hues
I choose you still
I’m here with you
And it’s gonna be
Saturday still
You’re here with me
And it’s gonna be
It’s gonna be
Saturday still
